Environmentally friendly products, also known as “green” products, have been flooding the marketplace in recent years. The motivation of buying and living green is to protect our environment and support products that impact our planet positively. However, there are many products that are under the names of “green” and “sustainable” but may not be entirely truthful in a new practice called “greenwashing.”

Some products posing as environmentally friendly include: rubber mulch, bamboo fabrics, and mislabeled green cleaning products. A better guide to finding planet-healthy products that keep your family healthy as well is by looking for items labeled “non-toxic,” “biodegradable,” “not solvent-based,” and “not tested on animals.”
